Fritz Deufel’s attitude is characteristic of the path chosen by Fritz Deufel Ingenieurgesellschaft (FDI): always open to new issues, courageous in thought and decisive in action. If you, dear reader, can identify with this, we will write history together. 

1968

Fritz Deufel founds an engineering and construction company in Deizisau near Stuttgart.

1969      

The young company takes on 4 engineers.

1972      

The company becomes a training centre for draughtsmen.

1990    

Andre Bittner starts at the engineering firm Deufel.

1991    

First use of CAD in a major project.

1993    

Michael Hartmann starts at the engineering firm Deufel. 

1994    

First spatial FEM calculation in the design of a skyscraper in Moscow. Conversion of the engineering company to Fritz Deufel Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH (FDI). Relocation with 20 employees to our new company building in Deizisau. Fritz Deufel becomes an active supporting member of Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences.

2003    

Tilo Deufel starts at FDI.

2004    

Andre Bittner and Michael Hartmann become managing directors.
Design of the globally unparalleled interlocking arrangement of concrete wind tunnels for BMW.

2005    

Michael Schätzle starts at FDI.

2008    

Tilo Deufel becomes a partner.

2011    

FDI becomes a user of BIM technology.

2013    

The firm employs 25 people from 4 nations.

2015    

After 50 years Fritz Deufel steps down from his management role. He is still available to the team as internal consultant. Tilo Deufel becomes the third managing partner. FDI designs the tallest residential building in Stuttgart at the time, standing at 78 metres.

2016    

Michael Schätzle becomes a partner and authorized signatory.

2018    

50 years EC Deufel - this special anniversary will be celebrated at the Kelter in Deizisau in september.

2019    

In january Michael Schätzle becomes 4.managing partner.
